Last year I had the pleasure of working on this exciting new and innovative game from Hasbro and I'm thrilled to finally be able to share some of it with you. This is a game where decisions the players make in one game will affect every game thereafter. Here is a little more explanation from the game designer, supah genius, Rob Daviau:

There are no do overs in life. Some decisions just make you who you are.

This led us to wondering why games always have to reset. Why are they a medium that always goes back to start? Movies and books are static forms of entertainment meant to be viewed but not altered. Games, by nature, demand that the user create the experience. We wanted to push that boundary to have lasting effects. Now you really create the experience. This game is not art to be hung on a wall but a leather jacket to be worn around until it has its own unique story.

It is one thing to play a card in a game to gain an advantage. It is entirely different to play a card and then rip it up, banning it from the game forever (I know that none of you will actually rip it up). Or to mark a territory that will change its destiny from here on out. It's a different decision process. How important is that card now? Will it be more important in a future game? Will you have it then? Is this the time? Is it worth it?

Check him out - he does amazing work. Head on over to the battle and vote for your favorite.
The rules were simple... create a poster using only 2 colors. Artists could use something they've created before or something new just for the battle. I chose to revisit my LOW poster, as I've been wanting to make an art print out of it for a while... So something old mixed with new parts. You can see the entire poster over at www.artbattlela.com but here are some detail shots:

This year I had the honor of designing an art print for the Screens 'n' Suds show (Screens for screenprinting and Suds for beer... yay beer!) benefiting the National MS Society. If you are in or around the Virginia area go check out the event. They have plenty to do for the beer and art lover...

This years theme given to the artists was "Beer Pop", anything having to do with beer in pop culture.

Below is my submission based on one of my earliest recollections of beer in pop culture, the movie, Smokey and the Bandit. It's a 4 color screenprint (metallic trans am trim gold, road rash gray, rebel red, and trucktread black). 19"x25" edition of 35 signed and numbered.

Closeups of the print:

Additonally the artists were asked to submit an additonal unique print for the gallery show. For this special 1of1 print there is a glossy varnish of Coors beer printed on the top of Snowman's truck. Below is a closeup shot of it, though it is a little hard to make out.

OFF! poster

Finished designing and printing this one for OFF! and Parade of Flesh in Dallas, Texas.
